About MD Equipment Services LLC

At MD Equipment Services, we specialize in selling chip-making machinery, fabrication shop tools, generator sets, forklifts, and a general array of manufacturing equipment. As of 2023, we have been in business for 13 years. We service customers in all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Asia. We also have a partner in San Antonio, Texas where we store generator inventory in our yard. In addition to selling, MD Equipment is active in delivering equipment to accounts in the Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and California. We have a warehouse in Salem, OR where equipment is stored that we purchase for our inventory.

Jerry Spoon, the sole proprietor of MD Equipment Services LLC, was born in 1965 in Reno, NV. His life was fairly uneventful up until he was 15 when his parents packed up, moving to Sonora, CA. No, not wine country, but a beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain town in the midst of gold rush country. Two years later he traveled north to become a future Oregon State Beaver with a degree in Industrial Engineering. After graduating, he moved to Portland where he spent the great majority of his adult life. Jerry worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for several companies from 1988 through 2010 before he finally went out on his own and started selling manufacturing equipment. He flirted with selling food commodities for close to 7 years, when he was not working in manufacturing. Jerry moved to Central Oregon in 2018 for a change of environment.

As an engineer, Jerry managed capital equipment projects including purchase, installation, and qualification phases. He also programmed burn tables, oversaw manufacturing processes, managed surplus equipment inventory, designed experiments, taught business writing, was extensively trained in statistical analysis, and performed a plethora of miscellaneous manufacturing duties.
